Field Trips and School Visits by Educational Groups
Field trips serve to enhance areas of study, and provide exposure to different experiences.
Some enhancing field trips: Fourth graders tour Mission Dolores while studying the California Missions. Fifth grade students spend an environmental education day at Ocean beach learning about the ecology of the beach. As part of the study of ancient cultures, the 6th grade classes visit an Egyptian Museum.
Classes also take advantage of regular and one-time enriching opportunities. Grades 3 through 5 participate annually in the Adventures in Music (AIM) program sponsored by the San Francisco Symphony. One-time opportunities have included an 8th grade docent led tour of the San Francisco Zoo on endangered species. St. Gabriel School is also visited by various educational groups. Visitors include the Zoomobile, the Planetarium Show, the Whale Bus, and Otto the Auto.
